At Bodega San Juan, a fifth-generation family winery, an English-speaking guide leads you through organic vines, a small wine museum, an old cellar, and modern production rooms. The 90-minute visit ends with two wines and local cheese, toast, and olives. Guide Maria has been praised for her warm, lively explanations, though the guide may vary.

“Loved the tour. The guide was fab and explained the entire history of the estate and wine making process so nicely! The estate is a beauty on its own. The wine and cheese tasting was fantastic because you got to have it in a beautiful garden on the estate while butterflies surrounded you. 10/10 experience and 11/10 guide”

Spend five to six hours exploring Gran Canaria’s banana-growing, rum-making and wine-and-coffee traditions. A guide leads the plantation and cellar visits, tastings and a mojo sauce workshop, with free time for lunch in Agaete. Tom is one guide named by a past participant, but guide assignments can vary.

“This is an excellent excursion in every way. Very informative guide and a good chance to see part of the Island as well as the threes stops for the Banana Plantation, Run tasting and lastly the Coffee Growing. Everything was fine but…. If you are getting on and have difficulty walking, the Coffee place especially was a bit hard work getting up the path to. Otherwise a very good excursion.”

The 2.5-hour tour costs $69 per person; lunch or dinner is optional and costs extra.

“I absolutely loved the Tapas and Wine Tour in Mogán! The entire experience took about 2,5 hours and was perfectly paced. It started with a wonderful mini-excursion where we explored a 200-year-old Canarian farmhouse and a beautiful cactus garden. The food was incredible—there were so many delicious tapas to try. We enjoyed a great selection of white and red wines, but the highlight was definitely the vermouth. They serve Vermut Lolito, which is the very first vermouth produced in Gran Canaria and is made right there at the Valle de Mogán restaurant. Being able to taste such a unique, local product makes this a truly exclusive experience. I highly recommend…”

The route starts at El Monje de Santa Ana, passes the cathedral and nearby squares, and ends at El Vasco de Vegueta. You receive a PDF with directions and can contact the organiser by WhatsApp if you need help.

“Alt var topp bortsett fra den siste restauranten - El Vasco de Vegueta- på ruten. Der var det dårlig mat, service og utrivelige lokaler. Absolutt bedre sted var La taberna del Monje. Nydelig mat, fantastisk personale og herlig stemning 🤩🤩 Kommer garantert igjen om vi er i Las Palmas igjen 🤩🤩”

“It was a great experience! It is an activity of a married couple, both very sweet people. We first sailed around for an hour, with the host sharing some facts of the areas. You could choose to sunbathe upstairs on the deck. The host also took pictures with his camera, which were sent to you later, which was very nice! During this hour you could also get something to drink like a beer/sangria/soft drinks. When we came back the wine tasting started and this was really fantastic. The dishes matched the wines and it was a taste sensation in your mouth. We really recommend this, it was really great fun…”

“It was absolutely amazing. The view was more than worth it and the meat platter was very tasty. Also the people are friendly and you feel very welcome. They even vacuum packed some meat for us to take it home to Holland. The finishing touch for me were the mango trees they are holding and growing there. I got to harvest my own mango from the tree. Thank you for having us!”
