★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 232 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $79

Follow the water through Cernícalos canyon on a guided, roughly four-hour outing with walking, scrambling, swimming and rappelling. Guides such as Miguel and Victor lead groups of up to 10, provide wetsuits and safety gear, and send you photos afterward. Pickup is offered, and conditions can affect the route.

“A fun activity - Miguel was great, made us all laugh a lot but also made us all feel safe and carefully explained each step. We just felt that there wasn’t as much time in the canyon as we’d have liked, and when we got to the meeting point we then had to drive our own car another 20 minutes as there wasn’t space in the minibus for us. “Picnic” description is misleading - we just got a small water each and nuts to share between the group. Also quite a lot of the wetsuits had holes in them. But overall would recommend, and loved the photos we got sent…”

“This was my first experience of canyoning but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Pablo - he was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the island. I could tell he was very experienced and he has just set up his own business. The route and scenery were so beautiful and safety was his number one concern - he let me build my confidence and do the skills with increasing independence as the trip went on. He took excellent photos during the trip and also discussed his commitment to decreasing waste during his tours. Sent me an exact location to meet at - very easy.…”
